Archana Puran Singh was born on September 26, 1962, in Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand). She completed her schooling at the Convent of St. Jesus and Mary in Dehradun before earning an English Honours degree from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University. At just 18, she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in modeling, which eventually led to her acting career.

Archana’s film debut was in 1987 with “Abhishek,” opposite Aditya Pancholi. She later appeared in “Nikaah” and “Jalwa,” the latter being a significant success. While initially focusing on lead roles, she transitioned to supporting roles in many popular films including “Agneepath,” “Shola Aur Shabnam,” “Saudagar,” “Aashiq Awara,” “Raja Hindustani,” “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” and “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!”
